In my 9 years of painting, I was able to watch my work slowly and laboriously evolve. Ideas would come and go and then resurface again in different forms keeping the work continuously fresh. In general, my work tends to explore the illusory, dreaming and fantasy in surrealistic atmospheres. My current work retains this sense and has moved forward in the past couple of years to welcome figural, representational and landscape elements that quietly reside in an unknown place. The relationship between these elements and the dream-like surroundings give a feeling of a hushed stillness, establishing the sense that something is happening or is about to happen. My paintings are conceived from both fantasy and fancies combined with the aid of various sources to give existence to an imaginary place.
